Recording Setup

Back to overview

Click on Button "Recording setup" in the main dialog opens the recording setup dialog. Here all setups for all channels can be done.

Please click on the area of the image about which you want to learn more.

Infinite measurement / Measurement with defined duration

You can select if a measurement may have a defined duration or if the measurement will last until the button "Stop recording" will be clicked. If you want to set a measurement duration you may select a duration in the combobox or you may enter a number in whole seconds in the combobox.

The measurement duration which was entered at last will be possible to select automatically next time.

Setting for the vibrations channel groups an the vibrational channels

Names of the vibrational channel groups:

These Names are preset with 'Left hand' and 'Right hand'. You can change the entries by entering a new name into the combobox (use it like a textbox). When you save the setup to disk these names are added to the list of possible names and may be selected as name next time. If you want to delete a name from the list you can do this in the setup-dialog.

Vibration channel groups may be set active or inactive (Checkbox).

The list of possible connectors will be read automatically from the connected measurement device. Please select a connector for each channel. For this please note that each connector may only be used for one channel.

Please enter a sensitivity for each sensor and select the full scale of the measurement device. The possible full scales are also automatically read from the measurement device as soon as it is connected to the computer an switched on.

IEPE Supply

Some of the data acquisition devices (for example RogaDAQ16) allow to supply the sensors with constant current. A registered trade mark for this technique is ICP ®.

It is possible to activate or deactivate the IEPE supply for each vibrational channel.

Please note the after activating or deactivating the IEPE supply the sensors may need some seconds to come to a stable state.

The IEPE settings will be sent to the measurement device after saving the changes of the recording setup. Please wait some seconds before you take the next measurement after saving the changes.

Settings of the additional channels

Please select a name for each additional channel which shall be active during the measurement. If the desired name is not contained in the list, you may enter a new name into the combobox (use the combobox like a textbox). After saving the recording setup the new name will be added to list of possible names. If you want to delete a name from this list you may do this in the Setup dialog.

The list of possible connectors will be automatically read from the connected an switched on measurement device. Please select a connector for each active additional channel. For inactive additional channels please select 'not active'. Please note, that each connector may be used only for one channel.

Please enter a unit for each additional channel.

The calibration values for the additional channels are defined by a calibration line. Please enter two points of the calibration line, X for the voltage and frequency values, and the data acquisition device will gibe you the associated Y value for the selected unit.

Example:

The pressure shall be scanned. The sensor makes 3 V for 10 bar and 4 V for 20 bar.

Please enter the following values:

X1: 3

X2: 4

Y1: 10

Y2: 20

Unit: bar

If an additional channel is an analog channel, the possible rages for full scale are shown according to the calibration line. Please select a full scale.

If an additional channel is a frequency channel please enter the maximum interesting frequency as full scale.

Please note that not measured values can be proceeded which are beyond the selected full scales. If measurement values beyond full scales happen, they are limited to full scale and a warning will be displayed after the measurement.

Save recording setup

Please save the selected values for the recording setup.

These values will be used for all following measurements and will be also active during the next start of the software. As long as you do not want to change the settings it is not necessary to call this dialog.
